Circular silver medal, by Henri Roussel, featuring the profile of the Duchesse du Maine, with legend, and on the reverse a bee flying towards a beehive with legend "Piccola si. ma fa pur gravi le ferite - 1703", with clasp, hallmark of the Monnaie de Paris, early 20th century (weight: 11.8 g) (diameter: 29 mm) The Ordre de la Mouche à Miel was instituted in 1703 by the Duchesse du Maine (1676-1753), to distinguish members of the court she assembled at her Château de Sceaux.
