Pair of torches in chased and gilded bronze, the shaft decorated with three female terms, the circular base encircled by a frieze of interlacing flowers and laurel garlands. 19th century, Louis XVI style (H: 29.5 cm) (minor dents to bases) These torches are inspired by a model by the neoclassical goldsmith Robert-Joseph-Auguste (1723-1805), appointed orfèvre ordinaire du roi in 1777.
