Charley GARRY (1891-1973). "Portrait of a Miner with a Jackh - Lot 297
Charley GARRY (1891-1973). "Portrait of a Miner with a Jackhammer", charcoal and gouache highlights on paper, signed lower left (view: 106 x 71 cm) (tears) Charley Garry trained at the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Paris and designed the decor for the Brasserie Lipp in Paris. He was also involved in decorating the former Faulquemont coal mine headquarters in Moselle. The headquarters, built in the 1930s, houses five paintings by Charley Garry in the hall. Our drawing is a study for one of these decorations.
