Conditions of sale

Sale of a hundred drawings and watercolors by painter and collector Henri DUHEM.

A Douais lawyer, Henri Duhem married Marie Sergeant (1871-1918), who also painted, as did their son Rémy Duhem (1891-1915). Close to the Wissant School and the Post-Impressionists, Henri Duhem forged strong friendships with Auguste Rodin, Camille Pissarro and Henri Le Sidaner. He left Douai in 1937 to settle in Juan-les-Pins.

On his death, part of his personal collection was bequeathed to his adopted daughter Nelly Sergeant-Duhem, then donated to the French state. This important gift forms part of the current collections of the Musée Marmottan in Paris.
